Born Learning Website
I began managing United Way Born Learning in 2008 as a full-time staff member. With 14 years of institutional knowledge, I maintain a small contract with United Way to run Born Learning. Like the BUILD website, the original Born Learning site was built in 2007 on a defunct proprietary CMS. I have taken ownership of the messaging, content organization, resources/downloads, and United Way brand compliance for a website re-design.
The new site has been designed for two audiences: United Ways and families. Initially, the site was designed with registration requirements/password protection so United Ways could access branded materials, and a public side so that families could access resources. In the re-design, we've consolidated everything into a public site, and simply created a distinctly visible section for families in the top navigation.

The website has been published in draft form, and has not been marketed in any way because it is a work in progress. At this time, I am combing through the site and cleaning up typos, blank spaces, broken links, missing resources, etc. I am exercising my light skills in Drupal for this.
I am also writing Born Learning literacy kits for families with children up to age eight. These kits will be a key resource on the families section upon completion. The kits are built around 20 children's books that focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The goal of the kits is to spark conversations between caregivers and their children through fun and age-appropriate literacy-based activities.
